Not sure which Mac you have?

Open the Apple menu in the top-left corner and choose About This Mac. If the Chip line says Apple M1, M2, M3, or M4, take the Apple silicon build. If it says Processor and mentions Intel, take the Intel build. Most Macs sold from 2020 onwards are Apple silicon.

Saibre protects your Mac and Windows computers. Phone apps aren't covered yet; keep client work on your computer.

    Before you install

    • You need to be an administrator on this computer.
    • Works alongside your antivirus and VPN. Only AI sites go through Saibre's local filter; everything else goes direct.
    • Phone apps aren't covered; keep client work on your computer.

    What the installer does

Saibre installs a private security certificate on this computer only, so it can read what you send to AI apps before it leaves. It can't see any other website, it never leaves your machine, and the list of AI sites it routes is a plain file you can read on your own computer.

    Full technical detail

On Windows you will see "Windows protected your PC". That is expected.

The installer is code-signed, and Windows verifies that signature. What you are seeing is a SmartScreen reputation warning, which is separate: reputation is earned by download volume over time, and Saibre is new. The warning fades as more people install it.

    How to get past it

    1. 1

Click "More info" — the small link under the message. The dialog expands to show the app name and publisher.

    2. 2

Click "Run anyway". The installer then starts normally.

    3. 3

Approve the administrator prompt. Windows asks for administrator rights, which the installer needs to set up the local filter.

You can confirm the signature yourself before running anything — see "Verify your download" below.

Illustration of the SmartScreen prompt. Wording varies slightly between Windows versions.

macOS shows no security warning during install: the package is signed, notarized by Apple, and stapled, so Gatekeeper can validate it without a network connection.

    Verify your download

Both installers are code-signed, and your operating system checks that signature before it runs anything. To check it yourself first:

    Windows (PowerShell)

    powershell
    Get-AuthenticodeSignature .\Saibre-windows-x64-setup.exe

A valid signature reports Valid. Anything else means the file is not the one we published — don't run it.

    macOS (Terminal)

    bash
    pkgutil --check-signature Saibre-macos-apple-silicon.pkg

Use the filename you actually downloaded. The status line should report that the package is signed by a developer certificate issued by Apple.

    Uninstalling

One click from the app, or follow the uninstall guide in the docs. Everything Saibre installed is removed.

    Requirements

Runs on Mac (Apple silicon and Intel) and Windows. Linux: coming soon.
