Use AI for the analysis. Keep client account data on your computer.

Regulation S-P requires you to safeguard customer records and information, and your books-and-records and supervision obligations expect you to be able to show which controls you run. Typing a client's account details into a consumer AI tool sends them to that tool's operator.

Saibre keeps those details out of AI tools mechanically: account, policy, and client identifiers become placeholders on your machine before anything leaves it, and the local protection log records what was protected. Amended Regulation S-P applies to smaller advisers and broker-dealers from June 3, 2026: a written incident response program, notification of affected customers within 30 days of determining that their sensitive information was accessed without authorization, and service-provider agreements requiring notice within 72 hours.

A client's account details typed into a consumer AI tool is the kind of event those procedures exist for, and FINRA has reminded member firms that examiners will ask for the documentation. Keeping the identifiers on your machine keeps the event from happening.
